WOW!!! So, proud of the Rebel Band tonight! They performed their best show of the season at the Science Hill competition! They placed 2nd in a class full of great bands and 4th out of 21 total bands! This has been an AMAZING year! Love these kids and love this band! GO REBEL BAND!
2015 Admiral’s Cup Farragut TN
The students performed a great show and placed 4th in their class and 5th overall out of 15 bands at the Farragut competition in Knoxville! There were many GREAT bands there and it was an honor to compete with these groups. GO REBEL BAND!!!

Sullivan South Band participated in a band competition at 2015 Music in the Castle at Tennessee High’s Viking Hall this weekend. They placed 1st in Percussion, 2nd in Class 4A, and 2nd Highest Scoring Band of the Day.

2015 Chilhowie Apple Festival - The Rebel Band competed in Class 7A and in this class they got the following awards:
They received a Superior Rating for their overall performance.
In Class 4A, 5A, 6A, and 7A there were 10 performing units and the Rebel Band was the Champion for these divisions.
The Rebel Band was also the Grand Champion out of 23 performing units for the day.

Our Sullivan South Rebel Band performed at the 62nd annual “Music in the Castle” competition at TN High School on October 6, 2012. They received 2nd place in their class in Music, General Effect, and Percussion. They received 3rd place in their class in Visual and Color Guard. The band placed 2nd in their class and 3rd overall for the day out of 18 bands!!! Way to go Rebel Band!!!

The Sullivan South Rebel Band performed at the 28nd annual “Appalachian Classic” competition at Sullivan Central High School. They competed against Science Hill and TN High School in Class 5A, as well as 12 other bands in classes 1A to 4A. The band was award 1st place in General Effect and 2nd place in the Music, Visual, and Percussion captions. They received 3rd place in their class in Color Guard and Drum Major. The band placed 2nd in Class 5A and 2nd overall for the day out of 15 bands!!! WAY TO GO REBEL BAND!!!

Five ninth grade students from Sullivan South High School Band were selected at this audition to be part of the Junior Band Clinic to be held on February 10 and 11 at Greeneville High School. The clinic will conclude with a concert on February 11. The South Students who were selected for this honor are:

Four students from Sullivan South High School were selected at this audition to be a part of the All State-East Senior Band and Orchestra Clinic and concert which will be held February 2-4 at the Park Vista Hotel in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. The students were judged on their skills in scales, prepared music, and sight reading. The South students who were selected for this honor are Chris Ward for Trumpet, Kim Parker for Flute, Katie Masters for Clarinet, and Christine Sass for French Horn. Chris Ward was selected to be in the top band. Catherine Raible, Guy Bortz, Jake Brickey, Brooke Johnson, and Peyton Nanney all make alternate positions.

Congratulations South Rebel Band! On November 5, 2011 the Sullivan South Band participated in their last competition of the season. They participated in the US Scholastic Band Association Southern States Championship. They competed with 8 bands in the Class V Open Division from Georgia, Arkansas, Tennessee, Missouri, and Kentucky. The South Band placed 3rd. The point spread from 1st to 3rd was only 0.8 points.

The Sullivan South Winter Guard and Indoor Drumline participated in the Carolina Indoor Performance Association 2011 Championships on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at Western Carolina University. The Winter Guard presented their show entitled “A Haunting Show.” They placed 1st in their class of 12 units performing for the second consecutive year. The Drumline presented their show entitled “What If?” and they placed 3rd in their class of 9 units performing.

In the McChesney Band Festival South Band was classified as Class 5A. In Class 5A, they got 1st place Color Guard, 2nd Place Drum Major, 1st place Percussion, and 1st Place Best in Class 5A. They received a Division 1 Rating which is a Superior Rating. To cap off the day, the Sullivan South Band won the overall McChesney Band Festival 1st place Trophy – top of all 14 bands in attendance.
